Information We Collect

The personal information that you are asked to provide, and the reasons why you are asked to provide it, will be made clear to you at the point we ask you to provide your personal information.

• Guest Nicknames: If you play as a Guest, we temporarily collect and display your chosen nickname to identify you in the game lobby and in active matches. This is not shared with third parties.
• Account Registration: If you register for an account, we store your chosen username and a securely hashed version of your password. We use this solely to authenticate your login sessions and persist your score history.
• Highscore Persistence: When a game is won, the winner's nickname or registered username and highscore are persisted in our leaderboard file (`highscores.json`) to show on the public "Legends" leaderboard.

Cookies and Local Storage

Chicago Multiplayer uses Local Storage to manage your game state, maintain your active session, and securely save your login token. We do not use persistent tracking cookies of our own.

Google DoubleClick DART Cookie

Google is one of a third-party vendor on our site. It also uses cookies, known as DART cookies, to serve ads to our site visitors based upon their visit to playchicago.fun and other sites on the internet. However, visitors may choose to decline the use of DART cookies by visiting the Google ad and content network Privacy Policy at the following URL – https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
