Rules of Chicago
Chicago is a classic card game for 2 players. The goal is to reach 52 points first.
1. The Deal
Each player is dealt 5 cards.
2. Exchanges
There are two rounds of exchanges. You can discard any number of cards and draw new ones to improve your Poker hand. Note: If you have 42 or more points, you are "Hanging" and cannot exchange cards.
3. Hand Scoring
After each exchange round, the player with the best Poker hand wins points:
- Royal Flush: 10 pts
- Straight Flush: 8 pts
- Four of a Kind: 7 pts
- Full House: 6 pts
- Flush: 5 pts
- Straight: 4 pts
- Three of a Kind: 3 pts
- Two Pairs: 2 pts
- Pair: 1 pt
4. Chicago Call
At the start of the tricks phase, if you have at least 15 points, you can call "Chicago". This is a bet that you will win all 5 tricks. Success grants +15 pts, but failure loses -15 pts.
5. The Tricks
Players play 5 tricks. You must follow the lead suit if possible. The highest card of the lead suit wins the trick. Winning the final trick grants +5 pts.
